Weed Pulls

Many of our native plant species are under assault by a suite of non-native, invasive plants. Left unmanaged, these "problem plants" quickly take over, reducing native plant diversity, eliminating wildlife habitat and food sources, and significantly decreasing the beauty and accessibility of our forests, streams, and parks.

We need your help to control the spread of these aggressive plants! No experience necessary. We provide the training, tools, and all the weeds you can handle. You provide the muscle, enthusiasm, and desire for healthier, prettier parks and streams.

Community Benefits

  • Ever try negotiating the removal of a 40-foot grapevine? Talk about a great team building exercise!
  • Three hours of devoted weed pulling is a terrific workout!
  • Removing weeds makes a place appear cared for and accessible, thus decreasing the amount of littering and illicit activity that may occur there
  • Some weeds, such as giant ragweed, are notorious for their allergy-producing pollen. A serious eradication effort can make allergy season a good deal more bearable.

Environmental Benefits

  • Increased plant diversity
  • Increased wildlife and insect diversity
