HRWA's Hopes and Dreams for Truckie II
The Herring Run Watershed Association is seeking a truck to increase its ability to do urban forestry and watershed restoration projects within the Baltimore region. We are seeking a truck that can tow a watering trailer (1700 lbs.), haul large quantities of trees and equipment, and make as minimal an environmental impact as possible. This will benefit the communities, schools, children and adults within the region of our watershed.
A truck with the following features will allow HRWA to fully meet our needs:
- Good Condition (can be used, new, or old if it is in good condition and will last over five years)
- Preferred manual transmission, V6 or V8 (probably needed)
- 4x4
- Extended cab (preferred)
- Towing package (preferred)
- Ability to add fencing and have hooks to secure a tree tarp
- Longer bed (preferred)
- Bedliner (can be added later)
Fuel (priority order):
- Hybrid, gas/electric
- Diesel for biodiesel
- Alternative fuel (E-80)
- Good 'ol gas
Towing Weight load capacity:
- Ability to tow over 3,500 lbs. (5,000 lbs would be ideal)
- Equals a water tank and trailer combination
- Gross Axle Weight GAWR over 3,500 lbs., Maximum Gross Combined Weight Ration of 8,000 lbs or greater
