There are plenty of locations for you or your company name to be featured in the new building!
The environmentally efficient structure with 'LEED Silver* recognition contains a green roof for natural insulation, tankless water heater, lockers & bike racks, a composting toilet, and landscaping with native trees and plants. The Center will be a resource for neighborhood groups and an example of sustainable building technology.
Students from nine nearby schools will take part in field trips, afterschool activities, and volunteer opportunities. The 25 seat classroom will contain a wet lab and students will visit nearby Herring Run Park for outdoor learning.
Additional space for staff, visitors, and volunteers will enable us to expand our restoration and education program and strengthen our environmental advocacy efforts.
The green roof will reduce energy costs, reduce contaminated runoff that would otherwise surge into the Herring Run, and offer visitors a chance to see a typical flat rowhouse roof, alive with plants.
