The Herring Run Watershed Center will open in late September, 2008!




- December 2007 - The green roof has been installed. Insulation of the walls with soy based insulation and denim insulation (see above). Installation of the plumbing is almost complete.

- November 2007 - The sidewalk was removed, the framing completed. See above picture of wood saving framing technique.
- May 2007 - Building permits secured and framing and construction began.
- On May 7th, Mayor Sheila Dixon announced the award of $100,000 towards the watershed center. The press event was well attended by supporters, students from Brehms Lane Elementary and WEB DuBois High schools. The Baltimore Sun wrote an article on Monday, May 7th prior to the event.
- March 2007 - Deconstruction began! Over 20 tons of metal, wood, and plaster were removed from the building, with nearly seven tons slated for recycling.
